our chapter
The Carolinas Chapter, formed in 1996, is part of the National Corvette Restorers Society (NCRS) and is dedicated to the restoration, preservation, and enjoyment of Corvettes 1953 - 2007. The Carolinas Chapter brings a part of the National NCRS to the local area where you can become involved in activities within the Carolinas.
We invite you to join us at one of our road tours, technical sessions, judging schools, or judging events. Check out our Events page for all future events! Our focus is primarily Corvettes, but good cars bring good friends together. Won't you come and join us?
We cover the Carolinas with members from the coast to the mountains.
The Carolinas Chapter is proud to be a Top Flight® Chapter.

MARCH-APRIL 2026
FROM THE CHAPTER CHAIR . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Ed Harbour
As I write this, I am enjoying a sunny day following a challenging winter for the Carolinas. Both of my Corvettes remain in their winter rest, connected to trickle chargers to maintain their batteries. My 1972 LT1 served as the demonstration vehicle for the recent technical session, which focused on replacing the front dual ceramic and carbon seal on a GM A6 A/C compressor. This session, along with a judging school dedicated to Flight judging preparation, was held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Universal Technical Institute, Mooresville. After making two trips to Kirk Turner and Jesse Walker’s garage, I discovered that replacing the A/C front seal was not as routine as expected. This experience provided valuable material for our tech school and will be featured in a future technical article. Working on these remarkable cars continues to be fascinating, offering opportunities to learn more about their inner workings—this time, more about the GM A6 compressor than anticipated. I extend a huge thank you to Jesse and the UTI leadership for hosting us once again for the February Tech session and Judging school. The venue proved excellent, and we had 19 members in attendance. During the school on Flight preparation, my 1972 was used to demonstrate the items from C2/C3 models that should be removed and presented for inspection to the judging teams. This process helps expedite their evaluation and ensures assessments are made against typical factory production standards. Flight judging offers members the chance to learn more about their cars, gain knowledge to improve them, and enjoy the process. It is important to remember that judges are also members of our organization and volunteer their time to support everyone through the NCRS system.

FROM THE REGION IV DIRECTOR………………………………………RICHARD SMALL
Region IV Director 6/26
We are moving through 2026 at a rapid pace, and the chapters in Region IV are thriving. Members across the Carolinas, Southeast, and Florida have successfully wrapped up a series of well-attended events. Looking ahead, all eyes are on the Southeast Chapter as they host their Buy-a-Vette event in Atlanta. Event organizer Rich Mauser has been hard at work, and preparations are fully complete for what promises to be a standout gathering for Corvette enthusiasts. Mark your calendars for the upcoming National Corvette Restorers Society (NCRS) National Convention, running from July 26th to the 30th at the Charleston Convention Center in South Carolina. I am preparing to make the trip, and I encourage all Region IV members to join. It is an excellent opportunity to connect with fellow Corvette lovers, participate in technical seminars, judge some cars and attend judging schools. Regionally, the weather has been thick and muggy, though thankfully there are nohurricanes currently on the horizon.
