Carolina Chapter to hold 2 session at 1 event
JUDGING SCHOOL & TECHNICAL SESSION
The Carolinas Chapter will hold two educational events on February 21, 2026
at the Universal Technical Institute, 220 Byers Creek Rd, Mooresville NC 28026
10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Ed Harbour and Fred Jenkins will begin the day with a judging school to answer questions about getting a car ready the day of Flight judging, i.e. what to remove or not remove before the judging teams arrive, how to best interact with the judges, what items to make easily accessible (new car docs, owner’s manual, extra keys, etc.) and how to appeal deductions. Come with your questions. Additionally, there will be a review of CDCIF when evaluating a component as either service replacement, reproduction, or original. C2 and C3 models will be used as examples.
After lunch, Jesse Walker and Ed Harbour will demonstrate the rebuilding of an A-6 air-conditioning compressor.
One Judging point will be given for the morning session.
Spring Chapter Judging Event

May 1st & 2nd 2026. Judging starts on Friday @1:30 with Operation checks. We will try to get 1 more section done on Friday after Operations.
Saturday Judging will start @ 8:45 Lunch @12:00 Judging ends approx. 3:30
Rooms will be available at the Holiday Inn Express (same hotel as last year)

2027 CAROLINA REGIONAL
MARK YOUR CALENDER, Carolinas Chapter will hold a Regional at Clemson Event Center again in 2027. Our 2025 Event was a great success so the board decided to hold another in 2027.

2025 Carolina Chapter Fall Flight Judging, Annual Meeting, & Election
The 2025 Fall Chapter Judging Meet will be held at Universal Technical Institute in Mooresville NC.
FRIDAY—1:00 Registration desk opens
2:30 all cars checked in and parked
3:00-6:00pm Operations and other sections as time permits. (2 points)
Dinner on your own. 6:00 Judging School/6:00 Ladies wine/cheese social
SATURDAY— 8:00am Registration/check in.
8:30 Car Owners’ and Judges meeting

Bowtie Judging School
JUDGING SCHOOL & TECHNICAL SESSIION
The day will begin with a judging school on Star/Bowtie judging from 10:00 a.m. until noon. Garry Barnes will present his 4-Star 1967 for some hands-on judging and will share his experience going through the Bowtie judging process. Garry is scheduled to receive his fifth star at the 2026 National Convention in Charleston. Ed Harbour will also share his experience with his 1968 5-Star Bowtie.
After Lunch Steven Heck will present a Power Point presentation covering C6 automatic shifter replacement as well as some research information regarding judging C6 heated mirrors.
Winery road Tour & Wilkesboro Race Track
The Carolinas Chapter will host a road tour meeting at the Hampton Inn, Statesville NC. on Friday afternoon June the 20th and leaving for the North Wilkesboro Speedway Saturday morning @ 8:45. We will caravan to the speedway for a informative tour and a couple of low speed laps on the track. Afterwards we will depart and travel to Shelton Vineyards and enjoy lunch at the Harvest Grill.
Money collected for the track laps will be donated to our 2025 Charity fund.
There are some option you can choose from listed on the registration form. You can join the group in Statesville or North Wilkesboro or meet at the Winery.

2025 NCRS Carolinas Regional
The 2025 NCRS Southeast Regional will be hosted in Clemson, South Carolina by the Carolinas Chapter. This event will bring some of the top corvettes in the country for judging against the rigorous standard of the NCRS.
2024 Carolina Chapter NCRS Christmas Party (Copy)
The 2024 Carolina’s Christmas Party will be hosted by Harold & Janet Kennedy. As In the past the Kennedy’s have provide a festive venue where chapter members can gather to enjoy the Holiday spirit.
It will be a Charity event as well, so please bring an unwrapped toy for the Toys for Tots collection.

JUDGING SCHOOL
This school will use Kirk Turners 1967 BB chassis as an example to prepare for flight judging. Kirk has spent a lot of time restoring this chassis to as new with strict attention to details regarding original nuts, bolts and mounting hardware. Come and share the opportunity to inspect a chassis up-close and exposed with out the body installed. If time allows we will do a first time engine start. We welcome the chance to become familiar with the process, and earn one judging point.

2024 Spring Tech Session (Copy)
This Tech Session will delve into the differences between original hand laid glass and press molded. Kerry will also cover bonding strips. Depending on timing of shop cars examples of all should be available for inspection.
2024 Chapter Judging School (Copy)
This is a NCRS Carolinas Chapter Judging School reviewing Corvette Locks & Keys. This will be a very detailed presentation. Whether you judge interior or exterior, this will be beneficial. This event is hosted by Jimmy Gregg at Monte Carlo Garage.
PRE-JUDGING 1967 400HP ROADSTER

This judging school will evaluate a chapter members 1967 convertible for flight judging at a future event. Those who attend will be divided into two groups. They will be judging chassis and mechanical areas. Sample judging sheets as well as sections of the Judging manual will also be provided.
One judging point will be offered for this session.

VIRTUAL JUDGING SCHOOL
This is a VIRTUAL judging school covering C1-C5 hoods
This a FREE event but you must register online to get judging point credit.
When approved you will be emailed a link to attend.
This event is put on by the HEART OF OHIO Chapter. It is an easy and informational way to receive a Judging point.
NCRS NATIONAL CONVENTION, French Lick IN.
NCRS National Convention at French Lick Resort. Event starts Sunday . A Welcome cocktail party will follow that evening. Judging schools will start Monday the 24. Annual membership meeting will be held Monday night and Judges achievement as well as Sportsman awards will be announced. Car judging starting Wednesday morning.
Judging concludes Thursday with car judging Awards and banquet that evening.
2023 Chapter Event
PowerPoint presentation on early C5 gas gauge failures and diagnosis path to correction. Extensive diagnosis as well as hands on parts to examine.
Prejudging 1969's for Future Flight
Lawrence Shaw has two 1969 Corvettes that he is planning to have Flight judged. Using the 6th Edition of the 1968-69 judging manual (with color photos) and sample judging sheets, we will help get him headed for Top Flight.
It doesn’t matter whether you are familiar with 1968-69s or not, you will have all the information needed to pre-judge these cars. It’s about using judging skills with the NCRS judging matrix of Originality, Condition, CDCIF, and Standard Deductions. A lift is available for chassis judging.
Jimmy Gregg will also conduct a short tech session on properly replacing plug wires.
Lunch will be hot dogs and cheeseburgers, freshly cooked, and there is a great view of the lake while you eat. This will be a fun event and we will all learn something.

Tom Wallace Meet & Greet
Come meet ex-corvette chief engineer and Corvette Hall-of-Fame inductee Tom Wallace! Spend the afternoon with the group discussion the advancements of corvette and racing during the early 70’s through late 80’s.

Chassis Considerations for Rebuilds
TECH SESSION
This tech session will focus on using new replacement chassis, which can be purchased from many aftermarket sources. It will focus on:
1. Deciding what chassis will fit your needs
2. Skills required to modify a chassis
3. Requirements to convert a bare chassis to a rolling chassis to fit your project.
Attend this session and learn how to evaluate chassis requirements for Corvette rebuilds, either stock or Retromod.

2020 Charlotte AutoFair
CAROLINAS CHAPTER PROMOTION
The Carolinas Chapter will be on site for the 2020 Charlotte AutoFair from April 3rd through 4th. Come join our crowd and view the many displays.
2020 Spring Judging Meet
Operations judging will take place on Friday from 4:45 until 6:00 pm and Flight judging on Saturday. With a judging school on Friday evening, there are 5 judging points possible. You may request judging assignments for both days. Priority will be given to those members nearing the next judging level.
There will be a Friday night judging school at 8:00 at the host Hampton Inn on a topic to be determined.

2019 NCRS National Convention
The 2019 NCRS National Convention will be hosted in Greenville, South Carolina by the Carolinas Chapter. This event will bring some of the top corvettes in the country for judging against the rigorous standard of the NCRS. Multiple tours of the area from the grand Appalachian Mountain range, to the Hendrick Heritage Center.
