Rain, sleet and snow– welcome to winter in the South. Not great Corvette driving weather. However, spring is just around the corner.
Speaking of spring, our spring judging event is just about to happen. We have 22 registrations, two Flight cars, one Concours, one Duntov display, and four Sportsman.
April 3-4 is the AutoFair in Charlotte. Jimmy Gregg has a new spot in the Blue Field. Stop by and say hello as the chapter will be passing out information and talking about NCRS.
Plans for the Childress Winery tour in June have been finalized with two road tours to the event: One beginning near Greenville, SC, and one in Raleigh. See registration form in the back of this issue. Hope to see you all there.
The fall judging event has been set for October 9-10 at the Best Western hotel, Clemson, SC. Note: This is a new date to accommodate Clemson’s football schedule and the Queen City Car Show at Hendrick’s, which is Oct. 3 this year.
I know I have been harping on the need for active members, so I thought you would like to know I am not the only one. The following is an excerpt from Chairman Sharyl Ingham’s column in the Northern California Chapter’s January issue of Vettecetera:
I know I shared this with you once before, but I think it is important to reiterate this thought. We all belong to one or many organizations and so the question is: Do we just belong? Are you an active member, the kind that would be missed? Or are you just contented that your name is on the list? Do you attend the meetings and mingle with the flock? Or do you just stay at home to criticize and knock? Do you take an active part to help the work along? Or are you satisfied to only just belong? Do you work with your committee and get right in the mix? Or leave the work to just a few and talk about the “cliques”? Please think this over, Member- Are you an active member or DO YOU JUST BELONG?
